As i am lazy and selfish i decided to put things in a NC, which means when people wants to get into Gor, which i am more than willing to help them with..i don´t have to spend hours with each and everyone saying the same thing. And as they will learn Gor better than before..means better RP for ME.
But to learn Gor is not enough. You also need to know the basics in RP. Such as not mix IC and OOC, write words out correctly instead of using acronyms or symbols like lol, omg, u instead of you etc in local chat in RP. Not to use the weapons that causes meter damage as a compensation for your lacking in RP to play it realistic and use argument and maybe fists against an unarmed instead of a sword or an axe. You are expected to know better than to Godmod, powerplay or metagame. To know better than to use abusive thought emotes and to log, TP or fly in RP area and plain sight. And to know better than to play your alts in the same sim.
Below you will find all you need to go from a Gor noob to someone who actually knows what he/she is doing and talking about. One who others may even consult.. It does however not replace experience or common sense when it comes to the RPing part. You will have to find that yourself.

Go there. Read and explore and do the quest you find there. it will give you a taste of Gorean RP. You will also find Gorean outfits there whether you will try out as a slave, panther, free women or a free man. It might not be the best but they are free and no point spending any lindens on an outfit you don´t know if you will ever wear, in case Gor is not for you.

This is link to a website where you can download many o the Gorean novels on mp3 files read in English. It is not all books but over 10 of them and more in progress. DO read/listen to them in order and also know that SL Gor is mostly RPd and based on the first 10 books. Of all playing in SL Gor, 90% has never opened a book. DON´T be one of "THOSE"..Read a book

Finally..a little tip i read in someones profile and that is well worth thinking about:
To those playing a Master in Gor:
Ever wonder why the bad ass Master who whips his girl in public suddenly has the attention of every slave in the place?
Does it get your goat that someone who seems to be "abusing" his girl gets all the attention?
Want to know why? Girls are attracted to the bad ass Master the same way men are attracted to panthers. HE challenges the slave, he doesn't coddle her, think she is a waitress , doesn't pet her head, stuff her full of candy and call her little one. He makes her think, punishes for mistakes, includes her in his rp, starts storylines with her instead of using her as a prop, AND most important..he sees her as an intelligent RPer able to handle anything he throws her way.
Slaves on Gor aren't just props. Darling if you can't find anything more to do with them then telling them to fetch you a drink..maybe rethink the Master thing. Even the most obedient slave girl needs to feel like her life is in his hands and he can take it any second. knowing that You're in charge makes us tick.

To those playing a slave in Gor:
If the only thing you know how to do is ask a man what he wants to drink, then you need a few more RP lessons. It's not a failure just you know strive to earn your collar. Learn who you need to be for him.
Getting them to include us in their rp starts in ONE place and that is with "us". We need to step up and start challenging the Masters instead of always expecting them to challenge or entertain us.
You are NOT a bad slave because you ask your owner, or any free questions, you're not a bad slave if you extend your vocabulary beyond "can I do anything for you Master". Men WANT RP as much as we do.. throw them a frigging line! Start a storyline, be creative, get HIM involved in your plots!
If you think it's fun for a man to sit in silence reading for the hundredth time how your hips seductively sway...then you have delusions of grandeur. They are as bored of watching it, as we are of doing it.
Don't be an NC kajira. Break the mold and use your brains!

Never forget though, that such a thing as BTB Gor do not really exists. It is in fact an impossibility unless you only wish to RP the scenes from the books exactly as written.
Do your best though, to be as close to the books as possible, using known laws, rules and standards/expectations of Gorean society, whether is is in a city as glorious Ar or a small mudpool in the middle of the marches. And when/if something occurs that are NOT covered by the same..common sense should be your guideline. Always remember that all are equal OOC, whether you play a simple pot slave, a baker or the Ubar himself. Most players have invested both a lot of time and effort as well as money to create their characters and that should not be so easily 'killed' off just because you are a free and the victim a mere slave. OOC the roles might be reversed. Do not do onto others what you do not want done to you. But in the same time remember.. YOU will have to take the consequences of your own RP, so think twice, or you MIGHT find yourself dead after all.
If this is a problem for you and your imagination and common sense do not let you travel further, then it is perhaps best that you move away from BTB Gor and the RP here.
Know your role and respect the role you chose by RPing it accurately. You ultimately are the writer of your story and how in depth you want your RP to be is in your hands. Do not expect others to give you prime rib RP when you offer dollar menu in return. Don't become a cop of Gor and dictate another's RolePlay. If you do not like the personality traits, hygiene, temperament or other behavior of a character, then avoid them if you are not capable of RPing with them.
